Account Deletion Request

This page explains how to permanently delete your Koda Reads account and the data associated with it. Koda Reads is a teleprompter app for content creators, published by Nix Writes Code LLC.

Option 1: Delete your account from inside the app

  1. Open the Koda Reads app on your phone
  2. Sign in to the account you want to delete
  3. Go to Settings (gear icon in the bottom navigation bar)
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap and hold the Delete Account button for 3 seconds
  5. Confirm the deletion in the prompt that appears

Your account and all associated data will be removed from our servers immediately. The app will sign you out and return you to the welcome screen.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you can no longer access the app (uninstalled, lost password, switched phones), you can email us to request deletion instead.

  • Send an email to benitez@nixwritescode.dev
  • Use the subject line: Delete my Koda Reads account
  • Include the email address you used to sign up
  • We will process the request and confirm by reply within 7 days

What gets deleted

When your Koda Reads account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our servers:

  • Your account record (email, password hash, authentication tokens)
  • Your profile (name, profile picture URL)
  • Your Pro subscription record, if any
  • All scripts saved on the device that initiates the deletion

What is retained

A few items may remain temporarily after deletion:

  • Crash reports already submitted to our error monitoring service (Sentry) before deletion. These are anonymized and rotate out of Sentry retention within 90 days.
  • Operational backups of our database (Supabase) that may contain your data for up to 7 days before rolling out of backup retention.
  • Recorded videos and any files you saved to your phone's Photos library while using Koda Reads. These remain on your device and are under your control. Koda Reads does not upload or store these files on our servers.

Reversibility

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you want to use Koda Reads again after deletion, you will need to create a new account.
